Facebook Marketing: Getting Started

Facebook is the most widely used social network. That means there are more customers than you need to be successful. The challenge is reaching out to them. I hope to give you some ideas for how to market your business with Facebook and get loads of followers liking your product.

First, you should make a business entity, which can be done at the bottom of the Facebook HOME page. This can be used together with your account to market your product or service. Facebook gives you the option to mark yourself a local business or a company. Local businesses get to input an address, which can help people in that region to find them. This information will also be displayed on the profile.

Head to your business profile page and choose edit on the right side. You should provide any relevant information on this page. Your business address, phone number, and any email info should go in. Provide descriptions of your product or service. Think about words people might use to find you, as well. Google and other search engines will index your public business profile, which could lead to some visitors looking for your specific offer. Give people all the options they need to contact you. All of this will be visible on the company’s info page.

Establish a web presence, either a blog or website. Many hosts provide simple site creation tools so you can make a page about your business. Link to your business on Facebook so that people can Like you, and see your news updates on their wall.

Use your updates! It provides something people can respond to. Advertise your new products, and be social with customers who comment. Give them a reason to pay attention! Don’t shove offers down your friends’ throats on your regular account. Instead, talk about how things are going with the business. People might be inclined to have a look, or make a purchase from you. It’s all about increasing awareness, especially for a local business!

If you are polite, people will help you to get more people liking. When others on their list see them interacting with you, it can cause another person to like it. Every new friend gives you one more person in the marketing audience. People who have purchased from you and follow your information on Facebook may be repeat customers.

Facebook allows you to make groups, which can be used to bring your customers together to talk about your fine startup. Use the make a group option on the left side of your page on HOME. Make it an open group that anyone can join, and decorate it with your brand by using a badge. You’ll have total control over all group members’ comments so can remove anyone unruly. Most people who come will be genuinely interested and friendly. Mention your Facebook group on other sites to help get the word out.

Don’t rely only on Facebook. In order to increase your potential, you should also tap Twitter and delicious.com as they can provide you valuable links and another audience for your marketing. So long as you aren’t blatant and annoying about it all, people will accept your occasional tweet about the business and people who like your type of services will respond. In short, be friendly and social on the social networks and you’ll find customers.

Facebook provides a large potential audience for entrepreneurs. You can get some of the sales you need by using it as a platform to establish your brand. Google info and read others’ experiences marketing to get tips. Facebook is easy enough to use that you do not have to be web savvy to tap its vast potential as a marketing tool.
