Google loves HTML, so you are going to use it as the language for your website. You might be tempted to use flash because the finished product looks better, but no one will be able to see the flash because Google can not read flash effectively. Therefore, you will be back in the bin again.
Therefore, you should use HTML and you should use it correctly. Use H1 and Bold tags as much as you can because Google pays attention to these tags. Similarly, if you use the tags incorrectly, Google will also notice – but not in a good way!
